Inspired by my own experiences, I have devoted my career to the private school world. With a focus on institutional advancement, I have five years of direct admission experience and more than a decade in marketing and communications. As a director of marketing & communications at Milken School in Los Angeles, I work closely with admission, alumni & development, as well as other offices on campus to develop successful marketing programs that support the school’s initiatives.
Prior to arriving at Milken School in summer 2017, I led an award-winning strategic marketing and communications team at Cheshire Academy, having earned awards for our annual fund marketing programs, overall team development and our magazine. Our work helped Cheshire Academy increase its enrollment by more than 30% in three years, and increased annual fund participation by 20% and annual fund dollars raised by 15% in just one year.
In addition to my work with schools, I currently write and develop content for a number of organizations, including Thoughtco.com (formerly About.com), InspirED School Marketers, AISAP and Blackbaud K12. I also enjoy helping educate others in the private school industry about marketing best practices. I have led several webinars and podcasts and have presented at national conferences including the NAIS Annual Conference, TABS Annual Conference, NAIS TABS Global Symposium and Blackbaud K12’s User Conference. Links to online presentations can be found under the Presentations & Publications tab.
In addition to serving in administrative roles in both admission and communications, I have held numerous other positions ranging from the advisor to a high school student newspaper advisor and a middle school yearbook to teaching middle school public speaking and digital photography. Having worked in both day and boarding schools with grades ranging from PK-12 and postgraduate, I have served as an advisor to both high school and middle school students, as well as several student clubs.
